Experimental film-maker Marie Menken’s Glimpse of the Garden (1957) is delicate and whimsical and makes you feel like a hummingbird. Menken and her husband Willard Maas were fixtures in the New York art world of the 40’s - 60’s. Their unstable marriage is said to be the inspiration for the characters Martha and George in Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?
